Job Purpose:
As the Team Lead Reporting Commercial, you will be accountable for the successful delivery of all analytics reporting projects and changes within your subdomain, ensuring adherence to scope, timeline, and budget. You will leverage a deep understanding of commercial analytics and requirements to define suitable architectures and drive seamless project execution. Your expertise in stakeholder management, technical solutioning, data modeling, and team leadership will be instrumental in fostering innovation and enhancing our analytics capabilities.
In addition to being a subject matter expert in commercial analytics, you will serve as a people manager for a team of IT Engineers, potentially including Project Managers and Scrum Masters. A key responsibility will be preparing and training your IT employees and business/functional stakeholders to embrace agile methodologies, with a transition to DevOps practices as maturity increases. You will be responsible for candidate selection, workload management, and ensuring the right skills are embedded within the teams.
Financial management is critical to this role. You will manage the financials of your area, including budget planning, rolling forecasts, and ensuring actual spend deviates by less than 5%. You will enforce working practices to achieve 100% PO compliance, ensuring POs are created and approved before work commences, and that accruals are managed proactively to reflect actual spend.
The Team Lead will utilize defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure and manage financial performance.
Key Activities:
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to understand analytics needs, prioritize projects, and define clear objectives and success metrics.
- Lead and manage a team of Data Engineers and Visualization Specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Design and architect end-to-end reporting analytics solutions, encompassing data extraction, transformation, modeling, and visualization. Collaborate with IT Architects to ensure adherence to architectural guidelines and best practices.
- Define and execute the analytics strategy in alignment with business goals, supporting data-driven decision-making and delivering measurable value.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the effectiveness and impact of analytics initiatives, delivering regular reports and insights to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and privacy regulations, upholding high standards of data security and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with IT teams to optimize analytics infrastructure and resources, ensuring scalability, performance, and availability.
- Oversee the design and development of advanced analytics models, algorithms, and techniques, including predictive modeling, machine learning, and data mining.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in analytics, sharing knowledge and insights with the team and stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the analytics team, promoting skill-building, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Drive the adoption of agile methodologies and best practices for analytics development and project management.
Experience and Expertise:
- Knowledge / Technical Expertise: In-depth, advanced knowledge of Commercial analytics (Digital & Non-Digital), reporting use cases, platforms, and technologies. Ability to oversee connections between business needs and analytics across the Commercial domain and advise on innovative improvements. Strong technical expertise in building end-to-end analytics solutions (ETL, data modeling, visualization, reporting). In-depth knowledge of analytics platforms, particularly Azure, Power BI, and SAP ERP. Familiarity with advanced analytics techniques (machine learning, predictive modeling, data mining). Fluent in agile and DevOps concepts.
- Analysis: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical analytics solutions.
- Optimization: Initiates, formulates, and implements new processes and procedures for the functional discipline and contributes to policy development.
- Autonomy: Works independently on projects and major changes within operational plans and policies; provides work instructions and plans work for others. Acts as a lead engineer in projects for specific domains or areas, translating requirements and architectural guidance into detailed designs. Strategic priorities are set in collaboration with the business.
- Impact: Owns end-to-end analytics and reporting development, testing, and deployment for a wide range of functionality or technicality in complex environments. Aware of business developments and needs, advising on translating business needs into functional and technical requirements.
- Experience: 7-10 years of relevant work experience.
- Education: Relevant Bachelor or Master degree.
