About The Project

Join the IIT Bombay team for a government-funded initiative dedicated to developing and demonstrating advanced drone technologies. We collaborate with key industries to solve critical challenges and foster technological advancements through strong partnerships.

Your Responsibilities

• Architect responsive, real-time user interfaces using React.js + Tailwind CSS for mission planning, telemetry, and video feed control.
• Build backend services/APIs with Node.js or FastAPI to manage drone communication and operator actions.
• Implement WebSocket/MQTT interfaces for handling real-time data streams, alerts, and commands.
• Collaborate closely with hardware and embedded teams on mission execution and telemetry formats.
• Optimize performance across frontend/backend systems while ensuring fault tolerance in low-latency streaming environments.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins) and manage containerized deployments via Docker on AWS/GCP clouds.
• Maintain robust security protocols including authentication, authorization, and role-based access controls.

Required Skills

Frontend: Proficiency in React.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS; experience with data visualization tools (Recharts / Chart.js); expertise in map APIs like Mapbox or Leaflet; familiarity with real-time WebSockets/WebRTC components.

Backend: Strong skills in Node.js frameworks (Express/NestJS) or Python ecosystems (FastAPI/Django); ability to design and optimize REST & WebSocket APIs; proficiency with PostgreSQL / MongoDB including schema management;

DevOps & Tooling: Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines, containerizing applications using Docker, deploying on cloud platforms like AWS/GCP, conducting API testing (Postman/Swagger), and writing unit/integration tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience developing full-stack applications with real-time capabilities.
• Prior work on dashboards for robotics control panels or IoT interfaces is highly valued.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, networking principles, and asynchronous systems.
