Full-Stack Software Engineer

About the Role

Viasat is seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer passionate about building high-performing web applications using modern technologies. You will join a team developing an API-driven satellite orchestration platform that delivers real-time situational awareness and command-and-control capabilities for a global fleet of aircraft.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with engineers in an Agile, self-organized Scrum environment to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Create and refine technical designs that balance innovation with practical needs.
• Develop customer-focused features by embracing feedback and adapting to evolving requirements.
• Serve as a frontend or backend subject matter expert, mentoring junior engineers across the technology stack.
• Partner with UX designers to create intuitive user experiences.

What You'll Need

• 2+ years of experience developing web applications using React, Spring Boot, Python, or Go.
• A strong foundation in computer science principles including software architecture and data structures.
• Experience deploying solutions on cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with microservices architectures and distributed systems.
• An ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance (Active or Top Secret preferred).

Skill Requirements

We value familiarity with modern React frameworks, high-performance databases (Redis, Elasticsearch), containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes, CI/CD automation, and leadership potential.
