Full Stack Generative AI Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a global pharmaceutical and healthcare organization based in the United States, is seeking a Senior Full Stack Generative AI Engineer to join an innovative technology team. This role leverages real-world evidence, scientific literature, and advanced data analytics within the US market.

• The team develops modern digital applications that leverage Generative AI for decision support.
• Build internal applications bringing AI into healthcare workflows across the United States.

Tech Stack

• Frontend: Next.js, React, TypeScript, JavaScript
• Backend: Python, FastAPI
• Database: Microsoft SQL Server
• AI: Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs)

Key Responsibilities

Design and maintain full-stack applications for US clients. Build responsive user interfaces using Next.js/React. Develop scalable backend services with Python/FastAPI. Integrate data querying in Microsoft SQL Server. Leverage scientific literature and real-world evidence to build AI-enabled solutions for research, information retrieval, summarization, knowledge discovery, and decision support.

Required Qualifications

• 8-12 years of professional software engineering experience at a senior level.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong modern JavaScript/TypeScript development skills (React/Next.js preferred).
• Pure Python expertise with FastAPI for APIs and backend services.
• Microsoft SQL Server proficiency.

Generative AI Experience

You will build applications powered by LLM APIs, integrate Generative AI into web apps, implement RAG (Retrieval-augmented generation), work with embeddings/vector search, and evaluate AI-generated outputs. You are a software engineer first; machine learning research is not required but engineering practical solutions is key.

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters degree in CS or related field.
• Experience with cloud-based development.
• Familiarity with healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and life sciences data (US market).
