About the Role

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Full Stack Enterprise Applications Architect (Lead Digital Architect) to join our dynamic Informatics & Connected Worksite - CAT IT Team. This pivotal role involves providing technical leadership to high-performing engineering teams, focusing on the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and innovative enterprise-grade applications. You will play a key part in aligning engineering efforts with strategic business goals, fostering talent development, and collaborating across functional teams.

The preferred locations for this position are Chennai - Brigade World Trade Center and Bangalore PSN office - Karnataka, India.

What You Will Do

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust software systems that align with organizational objectives.
• Contribute to project planning, resource allocation, and performance tracking to ensure high-quality, timely delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to effectively translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Implement and optimize engineering processes, tools, and infrastructure to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Ensure strict adherence to architectural standards, security best practices, and compliance requirements.
• Provide expert technical guidance in areas such as Java Services, Angular/React Web Frontend, cloud platforms (AWS), microservices, and DevOps practices.
• Support the career development of technical team members and actively participate in recruitment efforts.
• Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and ensure successful delivery.

What You Will Have

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise software product development, demonstrating strong coding and architectural skills.
• Over 5 years of experience in application development, working with multiple agile teams and driving technical decision-making.
• Proficiency in Java, Angular/React, cloud services (AWS/Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and modern architectural patterns.
• A solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and application security principles.
• Experience with messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, Azure Service Bus) and API tools (e.g., Bruno/Postman, Swagger).
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and JavaScript, including practical application in Java/React and Angular development.
• Proficiency in web technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3.
• Familiarity with Quality Assurance standards and Unit Testing/End-to-End Testing technologies.
• Exposure to containerization technologies like Docker and cloud container orchestration services such as ECS or Kubernetes.
• Willingness to work in an EAME Shift (1 PM to 10 PM IST).
• This position requires a 5-day-a-week, onsite work schedule.

• Platform Architecture: Extensive experience in designing processing mechanisms, roadmaps, and supportive interfaces for business application systems.
• Requirements Analysis: Working knowledge of eliciting, analyzing, and recording business and non-functional requirements.
• Target Architecture: Extensive experience in developing IT blueprints and roadmaps aligned with business strategies and objectives.
