In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and evolution of cloud-based applications and distributed services. You will work across the technology stack, connecting user-facing experiences with the backend systems and data services that support them.You will collaborate with a diverse, distributed engineering team and partner closely with product managers and other stakeholders to translate business needs into effective technical solutions. Your work will help advance regulatory-friendly systems while strengthening reliability, scalability, and maintainability. You will also contribute to architectural direction, identify opportunities to reduce technical debt, and help establish engineering practices that support long-term technology goals.QualificationsSuccessful candidates bring substantial software engineering experience and the ability to contribute across full-stack systems and distributed architectures. You should be comfortable working with one or more of Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js, and have experience building, testing, and operating production software. Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, as well as cloud platforms such as AWS, is important.You should be able to reason through complex technical challenges, communicate decisions clearly, and work effectively with teammates across disciplines and locations. Experience with microservices, system design, cloud-based application development, and software delivery practices will help you succeed. The role also calls for a strong sense of ownership, attention to quality, and an interest in mentoring engineers and helping teams improve how they build and maintain software.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications and distributed microservices that support Risk Tech priorities. Build reliable solutions using appropriate programming languages, frameworks, and cloud technologies. Contribute to architectural discussions and help ensure systems are scalable, secure, supportable, and suitable for a regulated environment.Work with product managers, engineers, and other partners to clarify requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver useful capabilities. Review code and technical designs, share knowledge, and mentor fellow engineers. Identify opportunities to simplify systems, reduce technical debt, improve operational performance, and strengthen engineering standards.
