Full Job Description
As a Platform Engineer at Amaha, you will play a crucial role in bridging software development and IT operations, ensuring the reliability and scalability of our infrastructure while contributing to core backend logic. This role is based in Mumbai, India.
Platform Engineering Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Docker images for applications and supporting services, optimizing for performance, security, and minimal size.
- Manage container lifecycle, versioning, and image repositories.
- Implement centralized logging solutions (e.g., ELK, OpenSearch, Loki) with defined retention, indexing, and alerting strategies for debugging and incident response.
- Set up metrics, dashboards, and alerts for system health, performance, and SLA monitoring.
- Ensure comprehensive, secure, and immutable audit logging for critical system actions, access, and configuration changes to support compliance requirements (ISO, SOC2, GDPR).
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams during audits and incident investigations.
- Configure and manage network security components such as firewalls, security groups, and network policies across cloud and Kubernetes environments, including ingress/egress rules, WAFs, IP whitelisting, and zero-trust networking.
Backend Development (Ruby on Rails)
- Develop efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code for core backend logic.
- Implement and optimize robust services and APIs powering Amaha's web and mobile applications.
- Design database schemas that accurately represent and support evolving business processes.
- Ensure seamless integration of front-end user-facing elements with server-side logic.
Skills and Qualifications
- Backend Expertise: 1-2 years of relevant work experience in Ruby on Rails.
- Containerization Orchestration: Strong production experience with Kubernetes, Docker, GCP, or AWS.
- Security: Deep understanding of data and application security best practices.
- Testing: Ability to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests for platform stability.
