Full Stack Engineer

Optum is seeking a skilled Full Stack Engineer to join our team in Hyderabad, Telangana. In this role, you will develop end-to-end features for both backend services and frontend applications, leveraging Java, Spring Boot, and React. You will create reusable UI components and responsive interfaces, adhering to design and accessibility standards. The position involves designing and implementing RESTful APIs, microservices, integration layers, and data pipelines. You will deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, or HCC. Collaboration with architects, product owners, and fellow engineers is key to translating requirements into scalable technical solutions. Ensuring application quality through code reviews, unit tests, and adherence to best practices is paramount. Responsibilities include optimizing system performance, reliability, and observability, participating in agile ceremonies, and maintaining secure coding standards. Continuous learning about modern engineering trends, cloud advancements, and emerging AI capabilities is encouraged.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop end-to-end features across backend services and front end applications using Java, Spring Boot, React
• Build reusable UI components and responsive interfaces that align with design and accessibility standards
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, integration layers, and data pipelines
• Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or HCC
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and other engineers to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Ensure application quality through code reviews, unit tests, and adherence to engineering best practices
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and observability using logs, metrics, and monitoring tools
• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes
• Maintain secure coding standards and ensure compliance with organizational and platform guidelines
• Stay updated with modern engineering trends, cloud advancements, and emerging AI capabilities

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack development
• Practical experience deploying and supporting applications on a cloud environment (AWS/Azure/GCP/HCC)
• Solid proficiency in:
  • Java, Spring Boot, Spring ecosystem
  • React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Building and consuming REST APIs
• Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and API integration patterns
• Solid understanding of Git, CI/CD principles, and DevOps practices
• Solid troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently
• Proven excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, API Gateways, Kafka, or microservice orchestration
• Exposure to Generative AI, LLM-based applications, embeddings, or RAG concepts
• Interest or hands-on work in Prompt Engineering for internal automation or tool development
• Familiarity with cloud-native patterns, serverless components, or event-driven architecture
• Proven ability to mentor junior developers and contribute to technical design discussions
