Full Stack Engineer

We are seeking an ambitious Full Stack Developer with a foundation in React.js/JavaScript and Python backend development, along with knowledge of databases, GIS methodologies, geospatial data, and commonly used GIS libraries and tools.

This role offers significant opportunities to learn, grow and take on increasing technical responsibilities while working on large-scale, mission-critical systems. The selected candidate will work on an esteemed Government project involving modern software, GIS and geospatial technologies.

• Develop modern web applications using React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
• Develop backend services and REST APIs using Python (FastAPI/Django/Flask).
• Design and integrate frontend and backend services with relational and spatial databases such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
• Apply database best practices including schema design, indexing, query optimisation, relationships, transactions and data integrity.
• Work with GIS and geospatial data for mapping, visualisation, analysis and spatial processing using tools like GeoPandas, Shapely, GDAL/OGR, Leaflet, OpenLayers, MapLibre or similar technologies.
• Understand coordinate reference systems, projections, spatial queries and common geospatial data formats.
• Write clean, maintainable and reusable code following established software engineering practices.
• Use Git, Docker, testing, API documentation and code review as part of the development workflow.
• Collaborate with senior developers, GIS specialists, AI/ML engineers and domain experts.

Academic or project experience in GIS, Geospatial Technology, Defence, Maritime, Remote Sensing, Mapping, Location Intelligence or Software Engineering is an advantage.
