Position Overview

This role sits at the core of our product engineering effort — building AI agents and automation pipelines that take real, high-stakes accounting work off practitioners' plates. You'll work directly with founders and PMs to design and ship production-grade systems where precision is critical. This is a full-stack ownership role focused on shipping features end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI agents and multi-step automation pipelines handling real accounting workflows in production.
• Develop full-stack applications using Python (Django/DRF) for backends and ReactJS for front-ends. Implement complex data models including multi-tenancy, RBAC, and audit trails.
• Architect RAG pipelines, tool-calling agents, and structured output flows utilizing LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI, or Anthropic APIs.
• Create comprehensive test suites covering hard parts: AI pipeline logic, document parsing edge cases, and multi-step agent flows (not just happy paths).
• Collaborate with founders to pressure-test requirements and challenge technical direction as needed while rapidly acquiring accounting domain expertise.
• Maintain robust API contracts with sensible error handling for both internal services and client-facing integrations.
• Leverage AI coding tools fluently to accelerate development without sacrificing code ownership or explainability in production systems.

Must-Have Experience

• 2+ years of experience shipping production software as a full-stack engineer.
• Hands-on expertise with Django/DRF, ReactJS, and PostgreSQL in live environments.
• Built and operated REST APIs using Celery + Redis for async task pipelines.
• Demonstrated delivery of AI/LLM features including RAG pipelines and structured outputs via LangChain or similar frameworks.
• Experience building B2B SaaS products with multi-tenant architectures, role-based access control (RBAC), and audit trail capabilities.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Prior exposure to tax, accounting, or financial document processing workflows.
• Experience with Document OCR solutions such as Unstructured.io.
• Familiarity with AWS/GCP and Docker-based deployments.
• Knowledge of workflow orchestration tools like Temporal or Prefect.
