Full Stack Engineer

Role Overview

Quanteam UK is seeking a highly experienced Python & React Full Stack Developer with approximately 2-5 years of experience to contribute to the development and enhancement of sophisticated web applications. This role offers significant hands-on experience in both backend and frontend development within the dynamic Capital Markets sector, collaborating closely with senior developers and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust backend services using Python.
• Build and enhance interactive frontend components using React.
• Implement and adhere to UI/UX guidelines to optimize usability and user experience.
• Contribute to the full lifecycle of feature development and application improvements.
• Produce clean, well-tested, and thoroughly documented code.
• Support API integrations, manage database interactions, and streamline application workflows.
• Actively participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and sprint planning sessions.
• Assist with comprehensive testing, bug fixing, and production support duties.
• Uphold best practices in software development and security protocols.

Required Skills & Experience

• Approximately 2-5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proven hands-on experience with Python for backend development.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with REST APIs and web application architecture.
• Proficient hands-on experience with React for frontend development.
• Solid experience applying UI/UX principles and responsive design techniques.
• Practical experience with both Functional Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts, and proficient use of unit testing frameworks for backend development.
• Experience utilizing Git or similar version control systems.
• A proactive attitude towards learning and adapting in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and strong teamwork capabilities.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Prior exposure to Capital Markets / Financial Services environments.
• Experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms or DevOps concepts.
• Exposure to frontend build tools, advanced testing frameworks, or CI/CD pipelines.

Awareness of non-functional requirements, including security, performance, and resilience in application design and production support is advantageous.
