About the Role

We are seeking a Lead-Level Full-Stack Engineer to develop and scale our internal workflow automation platform, built on n8n. This role is crucial for driving adoption among our Japan pilot users, especially within the Recruit domain. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical leadership, hands-on engineering skills, and will collaborate closely with stakeholders in Japan to ensure successful onboarding, customization, and long-term platform success.

About n8n:

n8n is an open-source workflow automation tool that enables the connection of various applications and services (APIs, databases, webhooks, etc.). It allows users to build automated workflows using a visual editor. Workflows are structured as diagrams of nodes, facilitating actions like "When a form is submitted → Create a record in a database → Send a Slack message." n8n supports conditional logic, loops, data transformations, and custom code, offering greater flexibility than many no-code tools. It can be self-hosted (e.g., via Docker) or used through n8n Cloud.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and scale our internal workflow automation platform using n8n.

Must-Have Skills:

Backend (Primary Focus):

  • Node.js – Primary backend programming language.
  • n8n Automation - Building, extending, and operating an internal workflow automation platform based on n8n.
  • Python – Secondary language for services, scripting, or supporting backend components.

Frontend:

  • React – Experience in building modern, responsive web interfaces and integrating with backend services.

Databases:

  • PostgreSQL – Relational database design and querying.
  • MongoDB – NoSQL data modeling and document-based storage.

Additional Experience:

  • SaaS integrations.
  • Strong systems and API integration experience, including working with internal services, third-party platforms, and building scalable data/service integrations.
  • RestAPI.
  • Docker.

Language Requirement:

  • Business-level to native Japanese proficiency is required to effectively communicate with stakeholders and users in Japan.

Soft Skills:

  • Customer relationship management skills are desired. The candidate should be comfortable working directly with stakeholders, building strong relationships, and supporting users or customers to ensure successful adoption and ongoing collaboration.

  • SaaS integrations.
  • Workflow automation design.
  • Platform architecture.
