BlackRock's Post Trade & Accounting group is seeking an Associate Engineer to advance our enterprise Client Reporting platform. This opportunity allows you to develop scalable services and modern applications supporting the full lifecycle of reporting production, distribution, and client access.

About The Team

The Client Reporting team delivers BlackRock's enterprise solution for a diverse global base of accounting and institutional clients. We manage all aspects of report production and distribution, ensuring quality, scalability, and operational excellence through advanced QC workflows, exception management tools (including the Aladdin dashboard), and strong monitoring frameworks.

We empower a dynamic self-service experience with secure document delivery via API, SFTP, and Secure Links, tailored to client requirements. By owning critical systems behind client reporting, our team drives automation and innovation for industry-leading clients.

What You'll Do

• Build scalable services: Develop high-performance applications using Java and Python.
• Evolution of microservices: Create event-driven systems supporting large-scale financial reporting workflows.
• Data Integration: Implement RESTful APIs and integrate with SQL, Snowflake, streaming technologies, and caching layers.
• Modern Web Applications: Contribute to frontend development using Angular/React coordinated with backend services in TypeScript.
• End-to-End Ownership: Manage features from building and development through deployment and production support.
• Engineering Excellence: Drive reliability, performance, and code quality via strong testing and rigorous code reviews.

What You'll Bring

• B.S./B.E. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building and supporting production systems.
• Strong expertise in Java, Python, and REST API development.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Experience with SQL & NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Working knowledge of Angular and modern TypeScript development.
• Proven experience in Agile environments using Git-based workflows.
• AI-First Mindset: Proficiency using AI tools to augment the SDLC (build, coding, testing, documentation) with strong validation. Ability to translate ambiguous problems into structured plans suitable for AI-assisted execution and iterative refinement.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an ownership approach.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Kafka, Redis, or other distributed systems technologies.
• Cloud-native experience (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Familiarity with CI/CD and observability tooling.
• Interest in financial systems, reporting platforms, or investment processes.
