Full-Stack Developer - Tech Team

Gain Ltd is seeking a talented and motivated Full-Stack Developer to join their Conversion I/O tech team in Mumbai, Maharashtra. You will be instrumental in building the I/O platform, a proprietary experimentation operating system utilized by leading brands across EMEA and North America. This role offers the opportunity to contribute across the entire technology stack, developing features that directly influence how experimentation programs are built and managed.

Responsibilities

Day-to-Day

• Develop and maintain features across the full stack utilizing Laravel (PHP) for backend APIs and Vue.js for modern frontend components.
• Write clean, well-structured code and actively participate in peer code reviews to ensure code quality and consistency.
• Collaborate effectively with a close-knit engineering team through asynchronous channels (Microsoft Teams, Jira) and scheduled video calls, accommodating various timezones.
• Debug and resolve issues encountered across the full stack, from intricate database queries to frontend rendering challenges.
• Contribute to sprint planning, ticket estimation, and engaging in technical discussions regarding architecture and development approaches.

Longer-Term

• Assume increasing ownership of platform features and critical technical decisions as you gain familiarity with the codebase.
• Help shape improvements in development tooling and propose innovative ideas to enhance the team's overall workflow efficiency.
• Support and develop integrations with essential third-party platforms, including A/B testing tools (such as Optimizely, VWO, Kameleoon) and analytics APIs.

Requirements

Backend Development

• Proficiency in PHP 8.1+ with a deep understanding of the Laravel framework, including Eloquent ORM, migrations, service providers, middleware, queue jobs, and Artisan commands.
• Expertise in MySQL, with a strong grasp of query optimization, indexing strategies, and relational database design principles.

Frontend Development

• Solid understanding of JavaScript (ES6+) and its core language features.
• Experience with Vue.js (v2+) including state management using Vuex and routing with Vue Router.
• Familiarity with SCSS/SASS and Bootstrap 5 for efficient frontend styling and component development.

Tooling & Process

• Proficient in Git and GitHub, including branching strategies, pull request workflows, and setting up CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Docker for creating and managing containerized local development environments.
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) are essential for effective asynchronous collaboration across different timezones.
• Demonstrated experience working with legacy codebases while also embracing and implementing modern development patterns.
