Role Summary
Guidewire seeks a smart, proactive Software Engineer (Full Stack Developer II) passionate about building high-quality software for the Property & Casualty insurance industry's complex domain. You will contribute to mission-critical applications generating $500M+ in annual revenue, serving 400+ enterprises and millions of users.
Your Mission
Build sophisticated solutions that improve customer experiences on our Guidewire Cloud platform (powered by AWS). You'll work across the entire technology stack—from core persistence layers to Web Application front-ends—within a lean, empowered team. We look for self-starters who communicate effectively and help maintain our strong collaborative culture.
What Success Looks Like
Successful engineers at Guidewire:
· Thrive in agile, fast-paced environments (TDD/BDD/Airpair programming)
· Demonstrate passion for code quality with thorough testing
· Possess curiosity and a hunger to learn quickly
· Communicate clearly while defending ideas based on merit
Key Technical Qualifications
We prefer candidates with:
· 2-4 years of enterprise software development experience
· Proficiency in Core Java & JavaScript (HTML5/CSS)
· Experience with React, Angular, or similar frameworks
· Knowledge of SOLID/Hexagonal design principles
· Skills in REST/gRPC APIs and Cloud Services (AWS/GCP/Azure)
· Understanding of relational databases (MySQL/Oracle) and NoSQL options
