As a Front-end Engineer within our engineering team, you will directly contribute to developing various product applications and components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React. You will utilize our internal design system to ensure consistency and high quality across all user interfaces. Opportunities exist to influence the technologies, standards, and architecture of the UI platform. Beyond hands-on development, you will also lead and mentor a team of engineers, guiding them in best practices and modern front-end development techniques.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Analyze, develop, implement, test, and maintain application components using relevant technologies and tools.
- Collaborate with product managers to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for feature development.
- Take ownership of feature development from concept to deployment, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Work with the Support team to resolve user-reported issues and provide quick workarounds for critical problems.
- Contribute to performance tuning of application code at various service levels and implement design changes to enhance overall application performance.
- Lead and mentor a team of junior developers.
What You Need to Succeed at BlueOptima:
- 5 to 7 years of professional experience.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proficiency in modern web development, including HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React).
- At least 2 years of experience developing web-based user interfaces.
- Strong understanding of UI usability principles and experience with Single Page Web Applications.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile development environment and adapt to new frameworks/stacks.
- Self-directed and capable of shipping code efficiently in a dynamic setting.
- Thorough understanding of RESTful web services and practical experience working with them.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Native SQL.
Good to have:
- Knowledge of SVG-based charting libraries, such as D3.js.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
