About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Full-Stack Product Engineer / Technical Lead to design and develop the core technology behind our OTT platform.

You will be responsible for backend architecture, APIs, databases, user accounts, content management, integrations and technical quality. You will work closely with mobile/TV application developers to build a connected ecosystem rather than disconnected applications.

Key Responsibilities

• OTT Backend & Architecture: Design secure, scalable backends; build APIs for web/mobile/TV; manage user authentication and content catalogues; implement watch history and entitlements; plan subscription models.
• Database & Content Management: Maintain database structures; develop admin dashboards; enable team management of episodes/metadata; ensure data integrity and backups.
• Video Streaming Integration: Integrate established video hosting providers (HLS/DASH, CDN); implement security for protected content; coordinate playback across devices.
• Websites & App Integration: Maintain backend services; ensure consistent UX/login across platforms; support mobile/TV integrations and payment gateways.
• Cloud, Deployment & Security: Manage cloud hosting (AWS/GCP/Azure); set up Dev/Test environments; use Git with code reviews; establish automated deployment and monitoring;
• Vertical Video Features: Design backend for swipe-based feeds; support engagement tracking.
• Technical Leadership: Lead a small in-house team; review code; break requirements into milestones; estimate effort/risks; maintain documentation to prevent knowledge silos.

Required Skills

• Strong full-stack or backend development experience (4–7 years preferred).
• Practical REST API design and consumption.
• Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL or equivalent.
• Authentication/Authorisation knowledge; Git proficiency.
• Cloud hosting/deployment understanding;

Preferred Skills

• Languages/Frameworks: Node.js/TypeScript, Python, PHP/Laravel, React/Next.js.
• Infrastructure: AWS, Google Cloud, Azure; Docker and CI/CD.
• Video Streaming: HLS/DASH concepts; CDN integrations. OTT/VOD experience.
• Paid gateways/billing; Analytics/AI API integration.
