Frontend Engineering Manager - Payoneer, Gurgaon

Payoneer is seeking a skilled Frontend Engineering Manager to spearhead our Frontend Platform and Micro-Frontend architecture in Gurgaon. This pivotal role encompasses full ownership of frontend engineering outcomes, from platform strategy and architecture to delivery excellence, quality assurance, and enhancing developer productivity.

You will be instrumental in managing and developing high-performing frontend teams, establishing robust platform standards, and collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Backend leaders to create scalable, high-quality user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and People Management

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate the growth of a dedicated frontend engineering team.
• Establish clear technical and delivery expectations, deliver consistent feedback, and actively support individual career development.
• Foster a strong engineering culture emphasizing ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.

Frontend Platform Ownership

• Define and drive the frontend platform vision and roadmap, prioritizing scalability, performance, and exceptional developer experience.
• Develop and refine shared frontend foundations, including design systems, component libraries, essential tooling, and efficient CI/CD pipelines.
• Champion standardization initiatives while empowering team autonomy.

Micro-Frontend Architecture

• Oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of our micro-frontend architecture.
• Establish best practices for module federation, deployment independence, versioning strategies, and seamless cross-team integration.
• Ensure optimal composition, performance tuning, and runtime stability across all micro-frontends.

Delivery and Outcomes

• Take full accountability for end-to-end delivery results, from initial requirements and architecture through release, monitoring, and iterative improvements.
• Achieve a balance between speed and quality by implementing rigorous engineering practices, including comprehensive testing, robust observability, and adherence to performance budgets.
• Collaborate effectively with Product and Design teams to translate business objectives into scalable and efficient frontend solutions.

Technical Excellence

• Maintain a hands-on approach at the architectural level, guiding critical technical decisions and conducting thorough reviews.
• Promote the adoption of cutting-edge frontend technologies and best practices.
• Proactively address and resolve challenges related to frontend performance, accessibility, security, and overall reliability.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 8 years of frontend engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a frontend management capacity.
• Extensive experience in building and scaling sophisticated frontend platforms.
• Demonstrated hands-on expertise with micro-frontend architectures, such as Module Federation, single-spa, or equivalent technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of modern frontend technology stacks (React is highly preferred), state management solutions, build systems, and development tooling.
• Proven experience in owning and managing large-scale frontend systems utilized by multiple development teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leading platform teams that support numerous product teams.
• A strong grasp of design systems and effective cross-functional collaboration with Design teams.
• Experience working with B2B or high-scale consumer products.
• Exposure to performance optimization strategies for large-scale applications.
