Frontend Engineer

We are seeking a talented Frontend Engineer to join our team in Bangalore as part of Merge's development squad.

As a critical member of the engineering team, you will build and enhance payments web applications ensuring seamless user experiences for our global customers. You will work closely with designers, backend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into fully functional features using ReactJS, Redux/Context API, and Sass.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable front-end code using ReactJS in a B2B fintech environment.
• Implement and manage state in React applications to ensure responsiveness.
• Write unit tests and perform functional testing (Jest/Enzyme) ensuring high code quality; conduct browser testing to optimize performance across different environments.
• Precision conversion of Figma design files into responsive, interactive React components.
• Identify bottlenecks in the frontend architecture to ensure fast load times.
• Participate in rigorous code reviews upholding best practices and standards for scalable fintech applications.

Must-Have Skills

• 7+ years of experience in front-end development within a product organization; B2B fintech experience is highly preferred.
• 5+ years of deep expertise with ReactJS, Scss/Sass, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Strong command over state management patterns using Redux or Context API for complex financial data flows.
• Solid background in writing unit tests, functional testing strategies, and debugging across major browsers.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Proven track record of converting Figma designs directly to production-ready React components.
• Familiarity with alternative modern JavaScript frameworks or libraries (e.g., Next.js, Vue).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development methodologies within regulated financial environments.
