Standard India is seeking a Front-End Software Engineer II to join our dynamic team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will apply engineering discipline and best practices to investigate, architect, design, and implement new solutions and enhance existing ones to meet Standard Insurance's business needs. You will participate in requirements gathering for iterative development, integrate packaged software and SaaS products, and be proficient in installing and integrating these components.

Architect and Design:

You will design solutions using an iterative, test-driven methodology, writing your own unit tests and performing validation for continuous development and integration. Production-ready code is our standard. You will gather, design, implement, and test data needs using Oracle, Microsoft, or other data repositories, with oversight from a Data Engineer for complex designs. User interface and user experience design are your responsibility, utilizing responsive design frameworks. Designs and code will undergo peer reviews. Prototyping is encouraged for new approaches. Proficiency in multiple modern languages and enterprise-level application security best practices is required.

Implement:

You will build and automate the deployment of your components and solutions into production using contemporary and emerging platforms, technologies, and software engineering methods. Familiarity with the current industry toolset for this purpose is essential.

We expect you to possess and demonstrate systems thinking and critical thinking skills, leveraging them in a collaborative team environment. The ability to adapt to varying roles, work independently, and technically lead at a senior level is crucial. Experience working in a multi-vendor, offshore model is also expected.

• Java, including Services and/or Micro-Services development

• Data Repositories (Oracle/SQL Server with MSBI) with ETL knowledge
• Git, Jira, Jenkins, Maven, Junit, Jmeter, Selenium, Jprobe, and XLDeploy/Release
• Cloud provider platforms (Azure, AWS, Google using IaaS, PaaS)
• Experience or comfort operating in a distributed, non-homogeneous technology environment

Knowledge & Complexity:

You will apply professional concepts and company policies to resolve issues. Work involves moderate scope, requiring analysis of various factors and judgment within defined procedures. You will have internal and some external contacts.

Supervision:

You will receive general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects.

Experience:

Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems is preferred, or equivalent experience.
