As a Front-End Engineer, Officer, you will be an integral part of an agile scrum team at State Street, focusing on the enhancement and maintenance of modules and components within the Alpha/Charles River Development platform. Your role will involve providing engineering troubleshooting assistance to customer support and other development teams. Key responsibilities include analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and debugging complex software enhancements, collaborating with business analysts and product managers to create sustainable solutions, and resolving technical issues. You will utilize languages such as C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, and React, while staying updated on emerging technologies. This role requires active participation in the agile development process, including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives. Senior engineers are expected to lead technical excellence and contribute to application architecture and roadmaps. The position involves writing unit and automation tests, conducting manual tests, and providing troubleshooting for mission-critical client implementations.

• Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug large and complex software enhancements within Charles River’s business and technical problem domains.

  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create simple and sustainable software solutions.

  • Direct problem-solving for projects to resolve software technical issues.

  • Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs and applications using C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and other related languages.

  • Provide guidance and critical analysis during code reviews.

  • Write unit and automation tests to ensure high-quality products.

  • Identify improvements in development and test methodologies.

  • Conduct manual tests to ensure end-product quality.

  • Provide troubleshooting for large, mission-critical client implementations.

  • Engage in the agile software development process, adhering to CRD scrum methodology.

  • Plan and coordinate cross-team activities.

• Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field; MS degree strongly preferred.

  • Experience with Single Page Applications (SPAs) using React and Angular.

  • Experience with prominent React packages and best practices, including Redux and RxJs.

  • 9 - 12 years of experience in JavaScript with extensive experience in ReactJS and Typescript.

  • Familiarity with test standards and frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, and Jasmine.

  • Familiarity with the NodeJS ecosystem, including NPM and/or Yarn.

  • Experience delivering single page applications in cloud environments (Azure preferred).

  • Experience with object-oriented programming (JAVA and/or C#), compiler/interpreter technologies, embedded systems, operating systems, relational databases (RDBMS), scripting, and advanced programming languages.

  • Experience in financial services developing solutions for Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, Post-Trade, IBOR, or Wealth Management is strongly desired.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with multi-tiered, high-performance database applications.

  • Ability to design and develop simple software solutions for complex problems.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

  • A minimum of 3 years working with an Agile development methodology.
