About the Role

You will build an enterprise Internal Developer Platform (IDP) on Port.io as part of a single full-stack engineering pool. The work spans portal configuration-as-code, TypeScript and Node.js integration services, React experiences, and seamless collaboration between integration and portal tasks based on backlog demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Portal Engineering: Build the Port.io implementation as configuration-as-code using blueprints, entities, scorecards, self-service actions, and RBAC.
• Integration Services: Develop TypeScript and Node.js services connecting the portal to ServiceNow (approvals, CMDB), identity providers, observability tools, and delivery toolchains via APIs, webhooks, and event-driven components.
• Portal Experiences: Create React and TypeScript experiences for developers, including catalogue pages, self-service forms, scorecards, dashboards, and custom widgets.
• Catalogue Accuracy: Build ingestion pipelines to ensure the catalogue remains accurate across GitHub, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems.
• Adoption & Quality: Instrument metrics, measure success rates (e.g., self-service adoption), improve feedback loops, and maintain tested, documented, reviewable code. Seniors lead design decisions and mentor teams.

Required Skills

• Full-stack TypeScript: Proficiency in Node.js services/REST APIs/webhooks and React development.
• Configuration-as-code: Fluency treating structured configuration (JSON/YAML) as first-class, versioned code.
• Testing & Security: Automated unit/integration testing practices, sound secrets handling, authentication flows, least-privilege access, and dependency hygiene. Clear written/spoken English required.

Experience Requirements

Senior Roles (6+ years total): 2+ years on IDPs or DevEx tooling with Port.io preferred (Backstage accepted). Ability to own components end-to-end and mentor.
Mid-Level: Exposure to developer portals.

Preferred Skills & Tech Stack

• Languages: TypeScript, Node.js, React, Python (Ocean framework), JQ.
• Orchestration: GitHub Actions, Temporal for durable workflows.
• IaC & Security: Terraform, Wiz, Checkov, OPA, tflint, Infracost, Terratest, k6 on Kubernetes.
• Integrations: ServiceNow, OAuth/OIDC token handling.
