Fraud Analyst - Client Service Operations
Teamware Solutions is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Fraud Analyst to join our Client Service Operations team in Mumbai. This critical role involves identifying, investigating, and preventing fraudulent activities across diverse banking products and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of U.S. financial regulations, fraud typologies, and advanced data analysis tools.
As a Fraud Analyst, you will perform in-depth research and analyze financial information to support well-informed commercial decisions, conduct investigations, and monitor financial movements to safeguard our clients' assets and operations.

Key Responsibilities
Fraud Detection Alert Analysis & Case Management
- Review fraud alerts generated by surveillance systems to identify patterns, typologies, and emerging fraud schemes across various payment channels, including ACH, wire transfers, card transactions, and cryptocurrency.
- Conduct detailed analysis of customer profiles, behaviors, and transactions to assess fraud risk indicators and potential vulnerabilities.
- Document investigation findings clearly and concisely, escalating complex cases for further review and action when warranted.
- Collaborate closely with client Fraud Risk and Compliance teams to refine monitoring scenarios, improve detection thresholds, and enhance overall fraud prevention strategies.
- Recommend process enhancements and control improvements to minimize false positives and strengthen the effectiveness of fraud detection capabilities.
Quality, Collaboration & Reporting
- Ensure all alerts, investigations, and escalations meet stringent quality standards and comply with all relevant documentation requirements.
- Partner effectively with investigators, compliance officers, and data analytics teams to improve investigative outcomes and identify root causes of fraud.
- Provide valuable insights on current fraud trends and contribute to the development of management reports and data-driven dashboards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for concentrations in Finance, Accounting, Criminology, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in transaction monitoring, fraud risk management, or financial crime investigations, preferably within the banking, fintech, or consulting/advisory sectors.
- Familiarity with digital asset / cryptocurrency transactions is preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with leading transaction monitoring systems such as Unit 21, Actimize, SAS AML, FIS, Oracle Mantas, or similar platforms.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and data analysis, with the ability to work with large datasets and identify anomalies effectively.
- Knowledge:
- Familiarity with various fraud typologies.
- Solid understanding of fraud detection techniques, including account takeover, first-party fraud, mule account identification, and social engineering schemes.
- Certifications (preferred): CAMS, CFE, CFCS, or similar fraud/AML credentials are a plus.
