Role Overview

This project, funded by the Government of India, focuses on developing FPV-based multi-copters, fixed-wing, and VTOL hybrid UAVs. The role involves designing high-performance drones for various applications while fostering industry collaborations to solve technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop FPV UAVs focusing on agility, reliability, and optimal component integration (flight controllers, motors, sensors, payloads).
• Configure flight software using tools like Betalight, Mission Planner, and QGC; select antennas and video transmission systems.
• Leverage CAD skills (Solidworks, Fusion 360) for prototyping, conduct FEM analysis on structures, and utilize rapid prototyping techniques.
• Perform field trials, troubleshooting, iterative improvements, and prepare technical reports demonstrating compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

A PhD or equivalent degree (MTech/ME/BTech) in a relevant engineering discipline is required. Extensive experience in UAV design, aerodynamics, composite materials, sensor frameworks, and power systems operation is essential.
