Founding Generative AI Engineer

Altimate AI is seeking a Founding Generative AI Engineer to be based in Bengaluru, India. This senior role requires deep expertise in building and deploying large language models (LLMs) and AI systems at scale. You will be instrumental in advancing our AI capabilities, designing intelligent agent architectures, and implementing sophisticated Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines that power our products used by thousands of data teams worldwide. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of developing production-grade AI solutions, particularly in generative AI.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement advanced AI agent architectures, including multi-agent systems capable of understanding context, making decisions, and facilitating collaboration between AI and human data professionals.
• Build and optimize large-scale RAG pipelines for efficient processing and utilization of enterprise-scale knowledge bases.
• Implement advanced model adaptation techniques such as LoRA, Prompt Tuning, and Adapter Training to optimize off-the-shelf models for specific enterprise data tasks, ensuring enhanced performance and accuracy.
• Develop and optimize cloud-native architectures (AWS, Kubernetes) for scalable AI infrastructure, supporting large-scale training, inference, and multi-agent orchestration.
• Implement robust security measures for LLM applications, covering data anonymization, prompt injection prevention, and adherence to enterprise security standards.

Professional Experience:

• 5+ years of hands-on ML/AI experience, with at least 1 year dedicated to GenAI/LLM projects.
• Proven success in deploying ML/AI systems in production environments.
• Experience working with enterprise customers and understanding their specific needs.

Technical Skills Required:

• Strong Python programming skills, including proficiency in the ML stack (Hugging Face, NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn).
• Production experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch/Tensorflow) and transformer architectures.
• Expertise in API development (FastAPI) and production deployment.
• Demonstrated experience with prompt engineering best practices and LLM evaluation metrics.

Technical Skills Preferred:

Infrastructure & Deployment:

• Experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate) and RAG pipelines.
• Experience with observability and monitoring of LLM applications.
• Proficiency in model compression, distillation, and large-scale deployment.

Model Development & LLMs:

• Expertise in semantic search and embedding models.
• Experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex) and agentic AI systems.
• Advanced model fine-tuning techniques, including LoRA, Prompt Tuning, and Adapter Training.

Impact and Growth:
