Full Job Description
We are seeking a Founding Engineer to shape our core infrastructure and AI systems. This role is ideal for candidates with deep technical expertise who thrive in autonomous, high-impact environments. You will work directly with founders across engineering, product, and operations to define priorities and execution strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own and scale core backend infrastructure, managing cloud compute, optimizing workers, and solving complex systems problems.
- Tackle research-grade engineering challenges at the intersection of AI, agents, and data pipelines, implementing new model harnesses and frameworks.
- Build and improve internal tooling to ensure high-fidelity, high-quality data output at scale.
- Collaborate closely with founders to define technical priorities and drive execution with minimal oversight.
- Raise the bar for problem-solving in a fast-moving, small team environment.
- Understand domain workflows and translate them into agent training tasks.
Qualifications:
- 3–7 years of experience in a deeply technical company (e.g., AI/ML-focused startup or FAANG).
- Strong background in backend infrastructure, including cloud compute management, distributed systems, and scaling platforms.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML systems (agents, post-training, or ML infrastructure).
- Passionate interest in AI tooling, frameworks, and staying ahead of frontier advancements.
- High autonomy, scrappiness, and ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
