Founding Engineer - AI (Remote)

Alchemic is seeking a Founding Engineer who is passionate about building the core infrastructure of a high-growth startup. Responsibilities:

• Architect and Deliver: Develop and deploy end-to-end features using Python and Angular.
• AI Engine Development: Contribute to LLM orchestration, prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, and the deployment of AI researchers.
• Scalable Infrastructure: Design, build, and maintain backend services, data pipelines, and integrations leveraging Flask and MongoDB.
• UI/UX Strategy: Craft high-fidelity, scalable frontends that present complex AI insights in an easily digestible format.
• Product Ownership: Assume complete responsibility for the product lifecycle, from initial concept to production-ready feature.

Requirements:

• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of full-time, full-stack experience within a fast-paced startup environment.
• Modern Tooling: Proficient use of AI-augmented development tools like Cursor for accelerated building and iteration.
• Stack Proficiency: Expert-level skills in Python, Angular, and MongoDB.
• Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical abilities and demonstrated capacity for autonomous work in a fully remote setting.
• Communication: Proven ability to articulate complex technical architectures into clear, actionable insights.

Nice to Have:

• AI/ML Interest: Foundational knowledge of machine learning concepts and experience with LLM APIs.
• Builder Mentality: A track record of delivering projects, including personal side projects, academic applications, or open-source contributions.
• Startup Experience: Prior exposure to high-pressure, early-stage startup environments.
