Founding Backend Software Engineer

About the Role

Design and build reliable, scalable backend services and APIs.
Own the data layer including schema design, migrations, and query performance optimization.
Collaborate closely with frontend engineers to ship full features end-to-end.
Set up observability, logging, and alerting from the ground up.
Contribute to infrastructure decisions as the company scales.

What You Bring

• A proven track record of building and owning production backend systems.
• Strong proficiency with Node.js, Postgres, and REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Vercel/Railway.
• The ability to work in ambiguous situations and move forward confidently.
• Previous remote work experience is highly valued (any level of experience welcome; new grads are OK).
