Forward Deployment Architect - Applied AI Engineering

Join DevRev's Applied AI Engineering team as a hands-on, senior technical architect responsible for the complete design and delivery of AI-driven business transformation projects. You will collaborate closely with pre-sales teams to define technical integration and implementation strategies, translating complex business requirements into robust architectural solutions. Upon transitioning to post-sales, you will own the detailed technical designs derived from initial scoping documents and drive execution, including significant hands-on coding to develop proofs-of-concept, custom integrations, and solution prototypes that demonstrate technical feasibility.

As the primary technical owner of the customer relationship, you will foster cross-functional partnerships to ensure successful project delivery. Your responsibilities will span from deeply understanding domain-specific customer needs to architecting scalable, agent-based AI solutions utilizing the DevRev platform. You will be directly involved in implementing critical technical components and resolving complex integration challenges.

This role demands a unique combination of enterprise architecture expertise, AI solution design proficiency, advanced hands-on development skills, profound customer empathy, and exceptional cross-functional collaboration abilities. You will serve as the vital link between pre-sales, customer success, engineering, and product teams, bringing DevRev's AI capabilities to life to deliver tangible, real-world business impact.

Responsibilities:

• Customer Engagement: Dedicate 20-40% of your time to direct customer interaction.
• Design and Deploy AI Agents: Build, configure, and launch intelligent agents using the DevRev platform to address specific customer challenges.
• Integrate Systems: Seamlessly connect AI agents with external platforms such as CRMs, APIs, and databases to enable automated workflows.
• Optimize Performance: Fine-tune prompts, logic, and agent configurations to ensure optimal accuracy, reliability, and scalability.
• Own Requirements: Partner with customers to thoroughly understand their needs and translate them into precise technical agent specifications.
• Prototype and Iterate: Lead live demonstrations, develop rapid proof-of-concepts, and refine solutions based on customer feedback.
• Lead Execution: Define project plans, align internal teams, and guarantee the timely delivery of deployments.
• Advise Customers: Act as a trusted technical advisor on AI agent architecture, performance considerations, and long-term scalability strategies.

Requirements:

• Experience: A minimum of 5 years in software development, AI/ML engineering, or technical consulting. Prior customer-facing experience is advantageous.
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Coding Skills: Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and Python, with a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms. Experience with Go is a plus.
• Applied AI Knowledge: Practical experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, frameworks like RAG and function calling, and building evaluation mechanisms to validate agentic AI solutions.
• Cloud and DevOps: Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD, containerization, and observability.
• System Integration: Competency in integrating systems via APIs, webhooks, and event/data pipelines.
• Data-Driven Approach: Utilize A/B testing, telemetry, and metrics to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to both engineering and business stakeholders.
• Customer Empathy: A proactive approach with a strong dedication to solving customer problems.
• Academic Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar discipline. Advanced degrees or certifications in AI/architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, SAFe) are considered a plus.
