Forward Deployed Engineer
United States
Full Time
Mid Level
Full Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking Forward Deployed Engineers to build production-quality features and components for our client engagements. You will work inside real client environments alongside Senior Forward Deployed Engineers or Architects, taking well-scoped pieces of work from design through implementation.
Your Responsibilities:
- Build Production Systems: Develop data pipelines, LLM applications, intelligent agents, and workflow automations that meet strict specifications and handle real-world load.
- Own Your Scope: Make independent implementation decisions within your assigned scope. You are accountable for the quality, testing, reliability, and maintainability of what you ship.
- Demonstrate Autonomy: Turn defined requirements into working software without needing constant direction. Ask early questions that surface constraints before they become blockers.
- Collaborate with Clients: Engage directly with client engineers and stakeholders, adapting to their unique environments and standards while leveraging support from senior leadership for broader context.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: 2+ years in software engineering, data engineering, or technical delivery.
- Technical Skills: Strong fundamentals in Python, Scala, Java, and SQL. Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is essential.
- Demonstrated Delivery: Proven ability to deliver working software with limited supervision using best-in-class tools for the job at hand.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Databricks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, or comparable modern data platforms.
- Experience building production AI/LLM systems (RAG pipelines, agents).
- Budget for obtaining Databricks and Anthropic certifications post-hire is available.
