Forward Deployed Engineer

About the Role

The Forward Deployed Engineering team operates at the intersection of engineering, product, AI, and customer success. Unlike traditional teams that focus solely on platform capabilities, our FDEs work directly with enterprise customers to solve business problems, design custom solutions, build workflows, deploy agents, and drive measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Lead the Forward Deployed Engineering Team, manage mentors, establish high-performance cultures, hire talent, and foster accountability.
• Customer Success via Engineering: Engage directly with CTOs and business stakeholders to understand workflows, identify automation opportunities, translate requirements into technical solutions, design AI-powered systems, and lead deployments from concept to production.
• Solution Architecture: Design and review complex solutions involving Voice AI, agent orchestration, workflow automation, CRM/Telephony integrations, knowledge retrieval, and support systems. Engage with CTOs, product leaders, operations, and architects.
• Tech Capabilities: Capability to debug production incidents, conduct architecture reviews, build prototypes, solve complex technical problems, evaluate trade-offs, identify scalability risks, and personally handle system building when necessary.

Operational Excellence

• Balancing customer commitments with engineering capacity across multiple deployments.
• Prioritizing effectively to ensure predictable delivery quality and managing stakeholder expectations.
• Leading incident reviews, improving observability/debugging practices, driving reliability improvements, and creating feedback loops for continuous improvement.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years in engineering management or technical leadership.
• A strong hands-on background operating production systems, designing scalable architectures, and debugging complex issues.
• Excellent communication skills to lead engineers through ambiguity and complexity.
