About the Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the success of our enterprise customers by deeply understanding their supply chain operations and data. You will design, build, and deploy robust backend solutions that directly impact key business metrics such as cost per delivery, SLA performance, and empty kilometers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Engagement & Solution Ownership: Embed with enterprise clients, both on-site and remotely, to grasp their unique supply chain challenges and define success criteria. Architect and deliver technical solutions for complex logistics problems with measurable business impact. Take full ownership of the deployment lifecycle from initial architecture through to go-live and steady-state operations.
• Backend Development & Deployment: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js or Python to support routing, planning, and execution systems. Build and manage critical integrations with client ERP, TMS, WMS, and OMS platforms. Write and deploy production-ready code that handles real-world load.
• Technical Interface & Client Collaboration: Serve as the primary technical liaison with clients. Lead architecture reviews, integration workshops, and represent the company in executive steering meetings, building credibility across all levels of the client organization. Champion the transfer of field insights back to product and platform teams to drive feature innovation. Maintain platform integrity by providing sound technical alternatives to client requests.
• On-Site Presence & Relationship Building: Be prepared to travel up to 30% of the time for client engagements, including kick-offs, integration sprints, go-lives, and post-live reviews, both domestically and internationally. Cultivate strong relationships where clients can rely on your direct support for critical issues. Be comfortable working in diverse environments, from warehouse floors to executive boardrooms.
• Continuous Improvement & Mentorship: Document architectural decisions, integration patterns, and deployment playbooks to streamline future engagements. Collaborate closely with Product, Customer Success, and Platform Engineering teams, proactively sharing field observations. Mentor junior Forward Deployed Engineers and elevate the technical capabilities of the team.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Mandatory Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of backend engineering experience, with hands-on coding in Node.js or Python for production-grade systems.
• Minimum 2 years in client-facing or deployment-heavy roles, directly engaging with enterprise customers.
• Proven experience in shipping and owning production systems end-to-end, covering design, build, deployment, and post-production support.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

• Backend & Systems: Strong proficiency in Node.js or Python, and experience building scalable backend services.
• Integrations: Demonstrated experience with enterprise integrations (APIs, third-party systems), including familiarity with ERP, TMS, WMS, or OMS platforms.
• Data & Messaging: Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases, and event streaming/queuing systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Cloud & Deployment: Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
