Full Job Description

We are seeking a Forward-Deployed AI Engineer to join our team in a remote, contract role for a duration of 12+ months. In this position, you will design, develop, and maintain AI-enabled solutions that address complex business challenges using Python, backend frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django), and robust API integrations. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Building scalable backend services with a deep understanding of async/await, type hints, and modular design principles.
  • Developing RESTful APIs with secure authentication flows, handling edge cases, and ensuring explainable AI outputs.
  • Applying AI/ML techniques such as large language models, prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation to solve practical business problems.
  • Integrating AI services into workflows, ensuring transparency, and validating outputs for operational use.
  • Writing complex SQL queries, optimizing database performance, and connecting to enterprise data sources.
  • Designing user-friendly interfaces for operational tools, metrics dashboards, and workflow monitoring.
  • Deploying applications in cloud environments (AWS/Azure) using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ensuring security best practices, including OAuth2 authentication, least-privilege access, and enterprise compliance.
  • Collaborating with Microsoft 365 tools (Graph API, SharePoint, Teams) for seamless enterprise integrations.
  • Writing maintainable, tested code with pytest and async testing frameworks, documenting technical decisions.
Ideal candidates will have:
  • 3+ years of Python experience with expertise in async/await, type hints, and FastAPI/Flask.
  • Proven experience with AI/ML applications, prompt engineering, and explainable AI.
  • Strong SQL skills and database optimization knowledge.
  • Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft ecosystem tools (Entra ID, Power Platform).
  • Ability to work in an AI-augmented development environment.
