Field Technician

Role Overview

The Field Technician at New Era Technology delivers end-to-end technology solutions that securely connect people, places, and information. You will perform local, regional, and national field service, installations, supervision, troubleshooting, and quality assurance at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Cultivate trusted relationships with customers and stakeholders; build alliances with subcontractors to improve satisfaction scores (NPS).
• Ensure all assigned work is completed safely, accurately, on schedule, and in full compliance with industry specifications and company policies.
• Maintain Project Managers with regular updates on job progress or issues via App-based tools within 24 hours of checklist completion.

Cabling & Infrastructure Installation

You will install a wide range of cabling infrastructure including:

• Single/Multi mode fiber (50/62.5)
• Copper Category 3, 5e, 6 shielded in both horizontal and backbone applications
• 18/2 twisted pair cabling
• Floor mount/wall mount racks/cabinets with proper grounding

Systems & Equipment Services

Troubleshoot and service POS, CCTV, video monitoring, security systems, computers, low voltage cabling equipment, routers, switches, modems (Cisco/Adtran), PBX, key systems, firewalls, wireless LAN controllers, physical security controllers, DVRs/NVRs, VoIP handsets, and on-premises voice/key systems.

Technical Skills

• Login to network equipment via GUI or command line (PuTTY)
• Knowledge of IP subnetting and wireless networking tools (Ekahau, AirMagnet)
• Desktop/laptop support experience
