Field Service Engineer I - Sparta Systems - Kolkata
Sparta Systems is seeking a dedicated and proactive Field Service Engineer I to join our team in Kolkata. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing on-site preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance for various control systems, ensuring seamless operational continuity and fostering strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, including system backups, modifications, and report submissions.
- Conduct thorough system cleaning and supervise associated tasks.
- Execute swift and efficient corrective and emergency maintenance to resolve system faults and ensure prompt issue resolution.
- Undertake shutdown maintenance activities as required.
- Manage all aspects of site logistics, including transporting materials for on-site problem resolution and maintaining accurate documentation for material movement.
- Perform comprehensive PC troubleshooting and network-related tasks.
- Complete all necessary documentation, accounting for approximately 40% of the role's duties.
- Provide continuous on-call support during exigencies, maintaining 24x7 availability.
- Execute service projects and manage system migration processes.
- Proactively identify potential customer needs, conduct pre-sales site assessments, and develop them into concrete leads and opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for system migrations and add-on services, collaborating closely with customers to deliver suitable solutions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all customer needs within designated accounts.
- Strictly adhere to ISO, HSE, and commercial guidelines, ensuring full compliance with all company processes.
- Be prepared to serve as a Site Support Specialist (Resident Support Engineer) when necessary.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of DCS and PLC systems.
- Proven ability in independent troubleshooting and problem resolution on DCS and PLC platforms.
- Capacity to understand customer requirements and provide effective on-site and remote service support.
- Experience in building, developing, and sustaining robust customer relationships through proficient account management.
- Ability to meticulously plan site visits in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and regional/central revenue targets.
- Fluent oral and written communication skills in English are essential.
- Polite demeanor and excellent communication skills are paramount in all interactions.
- Familiarity with Honeywell systems is considered a significant advantage.
- Educational Qualification: BE/B. Tech in Instrumentation or Instrumentation & Control Engineering.
- Experience: 1 to 4 years of relevant experience.
