Field Service Engineer

Your Impact

• Support customer network deployments by assisting with engineering documentation, acceptance testing, and field implementation across Packet and Optical platforms, including on-site customer visits.
• Gather diagnostic information and provide initial troubleshooting for network challenges, both remotely and on-site, in collaboration with senior engineers and customer teams.
• Contribute to network rollout and expansion planning for new and existing customer environments.
• Develop and execute test scenarios and test cases to validate network designs, features, and performance.
• Apply automation concepts by utilizing or learning scripting tools for configuration, testing, and operational tasks.
• Enhance technical knowledge by reviewing product documentation, design specifications, and industry standards such as ITU-T, IEEE, and RFCs.
• Collaborate within a global, cross-functional project team to ensure timely and high-quality customer deliveries.

What You Need

• Bachelor's degree (B.E. or B.Tech) in Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience, including academic projects, internships, or early-career roles in networking, telecom, or systems engineering.
• Foundational understanding of Layer 2 switching concepts (VLANs, STP).
• Foundational understanding of Layer 3 routing protocols (OSPF, IS-IS, BGP).
• Introductory knowledge of Optical networking concepts (DWDM, OTN).
• Analytical problem-solving skills and a structured troubleshooting approach.
• Clear communication and effective collaboration within a team environment.

Bonus Points

• Exposure to scripting or programming (e.g., Python) or a strong interest in network automation.
• Experience creating technical documentation or diagrams (Visio, Word, Excel).
• Familiarity with telecom or data networking standards and specifications.
• Experience supporting customer-facing or project-based technical work.
• Curiosity, adaptability, and motivation for continuous skill development.
