Field Service Engineer - Delhi, India
Leidos is seeking a motivated Field Service Engineer (FSE) to provide exceptional on-site technical and customer support for complex X-ray and CT-based security systems at assigned airports in Delhi, India. This role involves the installation, commissioning, diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of a variety of sophisticated electronic and electromechanical equipment, including computer and networking systems, often integrated within larger airport environments such as baggage handling systems.
Key System Technologies Include:
- Checkpoint CT systems
- Checkpoint x-ray systems
- Explosive Detection Systems (EDS)
- Automatic tray return systems (ATRS)
- Explosive trace detection systems (ETD)
- Millimeter wave technology passenger screening (MMW)
The ideal candidate will follow established protocols and best practices to resolve equipment and software malfunctions. This position requires a high degree of independence and the ability to work with limited supervision. Occasional travel to other airport locations and Leidos customer sites for extended periods may be necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Technical: Install, maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and test diverse airport passenger and baggage security systems. Ensure 99% equipment uptime through effective time management, stringent Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), and precise planning and execution. Perform scheduled and unscheduled Corrective and Preventive Maintenance, along with radiation surveys.
- Communication: Possess strong spoken and written English skills for clear and effective communication with team members and customers. Assist in providing customer training on installed systems and equipment.
- Team Working: Collaborate effectively within a rotational shift environment, taking ownership of service delivery to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Cross-Functional Working: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support the successful completion of projects.
- Health & Safety: Adhere to and promote all Group and Company health and safety policies and procedures. Ensure proper use of Company equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Requirements:
- Skills & Attributes: Proficiency with test equipment (DVM, oscilloscope). Experience with High Voltage and X-ray producing equipment is preferred. Computer experience is mandatory. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to perform under pressure. Must be a self-starter, capable of working independently, and accepting responsibility. Adaptable to changing shifts and job requirements. Willingness to work on-call and off-shift as needed. Maintain a professional appearance. Ability to travel domestically and internationally. Must be able to work independently and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks. Physical ability to lift/carry a minimum of 25 kgs and push/pull 90 kgs. Must be able to work in airport baggage areas with potential obstacles like vertical ladders, crossovers, and low overhead ceilings. Must be able to work safely in environments with risks such as high temperature, humidity, noise, and industrial equipment. Linux and Unix experience is preferable.
- Experience: 1-2 years for graduates or 4-5 years for diploma holders in relevant field service, preferably in integrated systems technologies. Experience maintaining and supporting large, complex, electromechanical systems. A broad technical background is valued, including experience in X-ray based security equipment, 24/7 rotational shifts (aviation), industrial electronics, IT networking, electrical power systems, automation, conveyor systems, and control systems.
- Qualifications: Graduation or a 3-year Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
