Field Engineer

Role Overview:

You will install, integrate, and support Archer's AI platform at customer sites including corrections facilities, law enforcement agencies, and government organizations. This hands-on field role involves regular travel (approximately 40-60%) and focuses on connecting camera fleets, Video Management Systems (VMS), and facility networks to our analytics engine, as well as deploying edge servers.

What You'll Do

• Video & VMS Integration:
• Lead on-site integration of AI analytics with customer video environments (IP cameras, encoders, NVRs).
• Work with major platforms like Genetec Security Center, Milestone XProtect, Avigilon, and Axis Camera Station.
• Configure ingestion over RTSP/ONVIF, tune codecs (H.264/H.265), resolution, and bitrate for optimal detection accuracy.
• Run site surveys to audit camera placement, lighting, and field of view.
• Integrate alerts into customer workflows (PSIM/VMS) and validate deployments against acceptance criteria.

• Networking:
• Troubleshoot networks carrying video traffic: VLAN segmentation, PoE budgets, multicast/QoS planning.
• Collaborate with customer IT on firewall rules, routing, VPNs, and network segregation.
• Diagnose stream loss/latency using Wireshark and switch logs.

• Platform Deployment & Support:
• Install/maintain Linux-based edge GPU servers with NVIDIA drivers/Docker/K3s.
• Manage offline updates for air-gapped sites via packaged installers.
• Monitor systems using Prometheus/Grafana and handle field-level incident response.

• Security & Compliance:
• Enforce CJIS Security Policy, encryption in transit, audit logging, and least-privilege access.
• Maintain data segregation boundaries across camera and analytics networks.
