Field Engineer

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Field Engineer - HVDC Contactor to provide critical on-site technical support in Bengaluru. You will be the primary interface between our engineering teams and customers, managing installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of high-voltage DC contactors across key sectors including Electric Vehicles (EVs), solar energy, railways, and heavy industry.

Location: Devanahalli, Bangalore, India

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Installation & Commissioning: Lead on-site installation of HVDC contactors. Verify electrical integrity (insulation, connections) and assist with system integration involving VCU/BMS control units.
• Testing & Diagnostics: Execute functional tests including coil verification and resistance checks using professional diagnostic tools to ensure high-voltage safety compliance.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose faults in coils, contacts, or auxiliary circuits. Coordinate root cause analysis with quality teams for recurring issues.
• Maintenance & Training: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (torque checks, insulation resistance testing). Train customer personnel on proper usage and safety protocols.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict EHS standards and LOTO procedures in high-voltage environments. Maintain accurate service logs and calibration records.

Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 2-5 years of experience in field service for HVDC components (contactors, relays).
• Expertise in DC circuits, arc suppression, CAN bus protocols, and electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with EV systems, solar inverters, and industrial power distribution is highly desirable.
