This role is within EY-Consulting - Data and Analytics, focusing on Microsoft Purview within the Data Protection team.
Role Overview
As a Data Integration Engineer in our EY-Cyber security Data Protection team, you will be responsible for integrating Microsoft Purview with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other data services to enable seamless data flow and governance. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing scripts for automated data ingestion, transformation, and validation processes within the Purview environment. You will collaborate with data architects to define and implement data models, metadata management strategies, and data governance frameworks.

We are seeking a Data Integration Engineer for the Data Protection team to work on various data protection projects for our global clients. Key Responsibilities
- Integrate Microsoft Purview with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other data services to ensure efficient data flow and governance.
- Develop and execute scripts for automated data ingestion, transformation, and validation processes within the Purview platform.
- Collaborate with data architects to define and implement robust data models and metadata management strategies.
Add-on Responsibilities
- Contribute to establishing data governance frameworks to ensure data quality and compliance.
- Develop DATA PROTECTION solution concepts and deployment requirements.
- Deploy DATA PROTECTION tools and implement endpoint protection solutions.
- Work with vendors to support DATA PROTECTION technology, including troubleshooting and upgrades.
- Administer Data Protection tools, including configuring policies, upgrading, and patching.
- Monitor and respond to alerts generated from Data Protection systems and other technologies.
- Understand and follow the incident response process through event escalations.
- Respond to escalations from the Incident Response Team.
- Adhere to processes for maintaining the leading DATA LOSS PREVENTION/CASB system.
- Support client teams by acting as an interim team member (e.g., security officer, security manager, security analyst).
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Strong programming and scripting skills, particularly in languages relevant to data integration (e.g., SQL, Python).

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 4-6 years of experience in data integration or data engineering roles.
- Experience with Microsoft Purview, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Knowledge of data modeling, metadata management, and data governance frameworks.
- Relevant technical certifications in data integration or cloud technologies are a plus.
- Demonstrated integrity in a professional environment.
- Ability to work in and adapt to a changing environment.
- Clear and concise communication abilities.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Professional certification or active pursuit of related certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Vendor/Technical certifications). Certified candidates are expected to complete a business-required certification within 12 months of hire.
- Availability for some weekend work and 20%-30% travel, depending on job requirements.
- Mandatory 5-day-a-week in-office work as per client requirements.
- Flexibility to work on rotational shifts.
