EY's Global Delivery Services (GDS) - Data and Analytics (D&A) team in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, is seeking a Senior Snowflake expert to join our AI and Data consulting practice. You will play a pivotal role in helping clients leverage data and technology to solve intricate business problems across various industries including Banking, Insurance, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Retail, and Finance. As a Senior Snowflake professional, your responsibilities will include leading and architecting the migration of data analytics environments from Teradata to Snowflake, ensuring high performance and reliability. You will be responsible for developing and deploying big data pipelines within cloud environments using Snowflake, and for the ETL design, development, and migration of existing on-premises ETL routines to cloud services. A key aspect of this role involves interacting with senior leaders to understand their business objectives and contributing to the successful delivery of workstreams, including designing and optimizing model codes for enhanced execution speed.

We are looking for individuals with a strong background in big data engineering, proven delivery capabilities, and hands-on experience in data warehousing and ETL processes. Expertise in Snowflake, including data modeling (roles, schema, databases), integration with third-party tools (ETL, DBT), and advanced concepts like resource monitors and performance tuning, is essential. Proficiency in object-oriented and functional programming styles using Java/Scala/Python for Big Data Engineering problems is also required. You should be adept at developing data pipelines for batch and real-time/stream analytics on structured and unstructured data, with a solid understanding of data processing patterns and distributed computing.

To be successful in this role, you should possess a Computer Science degree or equivalent with 3-7 years of industry experience. Experience with Agile delivery methodologies is preferable. You must demonstrate a flexible, proactive, and self-motivated working style with a strong sense of ownership for problem resolution. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial. A deep technical expertise in all aspects of Snowflake, including deploying it following best practices, providing technical guidance, and working hands-on with clients to implement solutions, is expected. Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of competitive and complementary technologies is also important.

Ideally, you will also possess strong client management skills. We are particularly interested in candidates with a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Architect in analytics solutions, complemented by around 2 years of specific Snowflake experience.
