EY's Global Delivery Services (GDS) Consulting, within the AI and Data practice, is seeking a Senior Data Analyst for its Kolkata, West Bengal location. This role is integral to our Data and Analytics team, focusing on critical data initiatives.

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Data Analyst with proven experience in ETL services to join our dynamic team in Kolkata. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be instrumental in gathering data requirements, preparing essential data artefacts, designing data integration strategies, ensuring data quality, performing data cleansing, and optimizing data pipelines and solutions that underpin business intelligence, advanced analytics, and large-scale data processing. You will collaborate closely with data engineering teams to ensure seamless data flow across our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

The role demands hands-on experience within the Financial Services domain, coupled with strong Data Management, Python, SQL, and Advanced SQL development skills. You will be expected to:

• Engage with data stakeholders and source teams to meticulously gather data requirements.
• Analyze and interpret large, complex datasets with accuracy and insight.
• Understand and apply various data integration patterns and methodologies.
• Prepare detailed data dictionaries, source-to-target mappings, and understand underlying transformation logic.
• Define and document reporting requirements.
• Develop advanced programs for data extraction and preparation for further analysis.
• Discover, design, and implement analytical methods to support novel data processing approaches.
• Conduct data profiling, both manually and using specialized tools.
• Identify critical data elements and understand PII handling processes and mandates.
• Analyze historical and incremental data load processes and generate clear requirements for data integration and processing for the engineering team.
• Perform data quality assessments, determine data meanings, and provide actionable data facts and insights.
• Collaborate with technology teams to support the development of analytical models using effective data and analytic techniques, validating results and articulating insights to business stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively with onsite teams to understand requirements and determine optimal data intake processes.
• Translate business needs into technical solutions, exploring innovative options.
• Provide product and design-level functional and technical expertise, adhering to best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering/Technology (BE/BTech/MTech) or MCA.
• 3-7 years of industry experience in data analysis, data management, and related data service offerings.
• Demonstrated experience within finance data domains.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming and data analysis.
• Robust experience in advanced SQL/PL SQL programming.
• In-depth expertise in data management, data integration, ETL, data modeling, data mapping, data profiling, data quality and controls, data analysis, reporting, and testing.

Good To Have:

• Experience working with Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with Kafka, Apache Spark (SparkSQL, Spark Streaming), or Apache Storm.
