EY GDS is seeking a talented Data Modeller Senior to join our growing Data and Analytics (D&A) team in Kolkata, West Bengal. We are looking for individuals with strong technology and data expertise in data modeling and a proven track record of successful project delivery.

In this role, you will be instrumental in understanding, analyzing, and managing data throughout its lifecycle. You will define and implement data modeling standards, design, review, and maintain data models, and perform data analysis to capture business requirements. Collaboration with data engineers to create optimal physical data models and identification of opportunities to leverage data for business improvement will be key responsibilities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Employing tools and techniques for data collection, updating, storage, and exchange.
• Defining and applying data modeling and design standards, tools, best practices, and development methodologies.
• Designing, reviewing, and maintaining data models.
• Performing data analysis to capture requirements and represent them in visual data models.
• Managing the entire data model lifecycle from requirements to implementation and maintenance.
• Collaborating with data engineers to develop optimal physical data models.
• Identifying opportunities to enhance business activities through data utilization.

Skills and attributes for success:

• Overall experience of 3-7 years, with a focus on Data Modeling.
• Ability to own and lead data modeling activities.
• Experience evaluating data models against existing systems and applying organization and industry standards.
• Proficiency in discussing and documenting data modeling requirements with cross-functional teams and business owners.
• Skilled in analyzing requirements and providing data models with source-target mapping.
• Experience managing end-to-end data model development and supporting various teams.
• Ability to gather requirements from Business SMEs and Product Owners.
• Proficiency in capturing data mapping, transformation, and business rules logic using source-to-target mapping.
• Capability to translate business needs into long-term data model solutions.
• Experience creating conceptual and logical data models based on business and functional requirements.
• Strong understanding of ER and dimensional data modeling.
• Experience implementing physical data models for RDBMS and cloud-hosted databases.
• Strong SQL and analytical skills.
• Expertise in Visual Paradigm/Erwin data modeling tools.
• Good communication and stakeholder influencing skills.
• Exposure to multiple cloud data platforms.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent job experience.
• 3+ years of experience in software development.
• 3+ years of experience architecting distributed systems.
