Expert Software Engineer

Oxtosdata is seeking a highly skilled Senior Web Security Expert to investigate and mitigate critical security breaches in their production website and hosting environment. This role requires an expert with deep experience in active exploits, brute-force attacks, web shell analysis, and penetration testing to assess vulnerabilities, detect compromises, and implement robust security measures.

Key responsibilities include:

• Investigating ongoing malicious activities such as web shell attacks, cPanel breaches, backdoor deployments, and administrator account takeovers
• Conducting thorough penetration testing and ethical hacking to uncover undetected vulnerabilities in PHP applications, web servers, and hosting environments
• Analyzing log files, WAF/firewall logs, and suspicious requests to identify attack patterns and security gaps
• Ensuring compliance with OWASP Top 10 security standards and implementing defensive measures
• Collaborating with the team to secure the live production environment with minimal disruption, requiring prior approval for security changes

Ideal candidates will have 2-7 years of hands-on experience in web application security, incident response, and real-world attack scenarios. Strong practical skills in vulnerability assessment, PHP security, and Linux/web server security are essential.
