About the Role
The Data Collection & Management team at CFRA is dedicated to gathering and maintaining a comprehensive range of financial data. This data is crucial for our internal teams in developing essential products for institutional investors, brokers, and wealth managers. We manage both automated data ingestion and manual collection processes, ensuring the highest standards of data quality, completeness, and timeliness. We believe data is a vital asset and act as its dedicated stewards at CFRA.
About You
You possess a strong passion for working with ETF and Mutual Fund holdings data, understanding its power to drive insights and narratives. With at least 2 years of holdings experience in ETFs/Mutual Funds, you are a motivated, quick learner with a keen interest in finance. You thrive on analyzing data related to companies, equities, funds, and other financial instruments. Your detail-oriented approach and strong quantitative and analytical skills allow you to work independently and take ownership of your tasks. You are comfortable engaging with vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders. When faced with challenges, you critically analyze root causes, propose long-term solutions, and are continuously seeking opportunities for process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily ETF and Mutual Fund holdings collection, cleaning, and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Monitor and perform quality assurance on data ingested through automated processes.
- Identify and rectify errors, duplicates, and inconsistencies within datasets.
- Collaborate with a Scrum Team to identify and resolve issues related to automated processes.
- Contribute to the expansion of data collection efforts.
- Assist management in preparing comprehensive reports on incident reporting, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), fixes, and work in progress on key metrics and insights.
- Respond to data-related inquiries from senior analysts and management.
- Maintain thorough documentation of data sources, processes, and methodologies.
- Work closely with data engineers to establish and optimize data pipelines.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or Accounting.
- 2-4 years of experience in the funds/indexing industry within a data, analytics, or finance-related role.
- Familiarity with ETFs, Mutual Funds, and/or other financial instruments.
- Detail-oriented and analytical mindset.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- Hands-on experience working with development teams on ETL operations.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience in managing large datasets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to work independently, think creatively, and maintain a high standard of quality.
Note: This role operates on a 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST schedule, Monday to Friday, to support U.S. market hours. Candidates must be fully available for this shift.
