Mindtickle is seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager with 7 to 11 years of experience to lead, scale, and inspire high-performing engineering teams. This critical role focuses on the delivery of mission-critical products while cultivating a culture of technical excellence and high-agency performance.
This position is central to engineering leadership, bridging technical strategy and operational execution. The Engineering Manager will spearhead a wide array of engineering initiatives, with a particular emphasis on overseeing key AI-integrated projects. A strong understanding of managing the unique lifecycles of AI-based features is essential. Furthermore, this role involves championing AI-powered optimization of internal engineering processes to enhance team velocity.

- Gain exposure to a diverse tech stack including GoLang, Java, Python, NodeJS, Serverless Technologies (AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions), and Kafka.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execution & Delivery: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of mission-critical products, ensuring high-velocity and high-quality execution against team commitments.
- Strategic Alignment: Partner with Product and Business teams to define roadmaps and translate customer needs, including AI-integrated features, into executable engineering plans.
- High-Performance Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and develop a diverse engineering team, fostering a culture of high agency, continuous growth, and collective achievement.
- Technical Stewardship: Collaborate with Tech Leads and Architects to address complex challenges, influence architectural decisions, and contribute to long-term architectural planning.
- Data & Innovation: Develop strategies for effective data engineering and scalable system design to support core features and advanced AI initiatives.
- Operational Excellence: Champion engineering best practices, manage technical debt, and ensure systems are built for enduring reliability.
- Process Optimization: Continuously assess and implement AI-powered tools, such as LLM-based coding assistants and automated documentation, to streamline workflows and boost team productivity.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
- 7-11 years of overall software engineering experience.
- 2-4 years of experience leading engineering teams.
- Strong proficiency in Agile software development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to build strong interpersonal relationships and drive teams towards common objectives.
- Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional, highly collaborative environments.
- A consistent focus on improving systems, software, and processes through data analysis and metrics.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Golang, Java, Python, Node.js, SQL, and Kafka.
- Solid understanding of Event-Driven Architecture, Microservices, Serverless Architecture, and Schema Evolution.
- Familiarity with modern DevOps tools and techniques.
- Experience in setting up and tracking key engineering metrics, and summarizing them for executive decision-making.
