Engineering Manager

We seek an experienced Engineering Manager - Data (GCP) to lead data engineering on Google Cloud Platform. You will drive design, development, and scaling of cloud-native platforms while building high-performing teams from a hands-on background into leadership.

Technical Leadership

• Own architecture and roadmap for GCP-based data platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, etc.).
• Drive best practices in pipeline design, modeling, quality, and governance.
• Evaluate tools to improve scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Ensure security, compliance, and privacy standards adherence.

People Management

• Lead 10-25+ engineers/tech leads; own hiring and career development.
• Foster engineering excellence and continuous learning culture.
• Manage capacity planning and workload distribution.

Stakeholder & Program Management

• Partner with product, analytics, and data science teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Owning Agile delivery timelines, budgets, and cost optimization.
• Reporting KPIs and platform health to senior leadership.

Strategy & Modernization

• Define long-term strategy aligned with business goals.
• Drive migration initiatives (on-prem to GCP) and legacy re-architecture.

Requirements:
12-16 years experience in software/data engineering; 3-5 years managing teams. Deep expertise in BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Dataproc, SQL/Python/Java, Terraform, CI/CD, and data governance (GDPR/SOC2). Agile/Scrum experience is required.
Preferred:GCP certifications, multi-cloud/hybrid cloud exposure, ML/AI platform integration.
