Engineering Manager

Kriyadocs is seeking an Engineering Manager with strong operational leadership skills to oversee the day-to-day engineering organization in Chennai. This role emphasizes people-first, operations-driven management, driving product delivery, providing architectural direction, fostering team health, and ensuring smooth execution while partnering with publishing services for customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure accountability for engineering team's delivery commitments, maintaining technical clarity across squads.
• Led efforts to meet sprint goals, resolve blockers, and communicate timelines proactively.
• Cultivate a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement; champion best practices organization-wide.
• Monitor velocity, morale, and collaboration; intervene early to address challenges and celebrate wins.
• Foster cross-functional alignment with Product, QA, DevOps, and Program Management on priorities and dependencies.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for delivery issues, resolving conflicts within or between squads before reaching executive leadership.
• Partner in recruiting senior engineers and managing new hire onboarding.

Requirements:

• 12-18 years of experience in software engineering or product delivery; 5+ years specifically in engineering management or team lead roles.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple teams or squads within a product engineering environment.
• Strong operational and organizational skills for planning, execution, and sustainable pacing.
• Excellent people skills including building trust, providing constructive feedback, and developing talent at all levels.
• Familiarity with Agile and squad-based delivery models; experience in stream-aligned structures is a plus.
• Superb communication abilities to represent engineering clearly to product teams, clients, and leadership.
• High resilience and composure under pressure to make decisions with incomplete information.
