Engineering Manager

Meesho is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager with expertise in emerging technologies to lead our engineering initiatives in Bangalore. This role is pivotal in ensuring consistency and quality across all engineering projects by defining effective strategies. You will oversee all engineering endeavors, ensuring all assigned duties are meticulously fulfilled. Your responsibilities will include analyzing team members' tasks, fostering effective collaborations, and mentoring junior engineers into proficient experts. You will also be responsible for generating progress reports on all ongoing projects.

Responsibilities:

• Define and assign tasks to engineers in alignment with Meesho's strategic guidelines.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing and soliciting constructive feedback.
• Monitor the progress and health of various engineering projects.
• Collaborate closely with sales and design teams to drive innovation and product development.
• Manage engineering teams, take ownership of projects, and ensure the scalability of our products.
• Lead regular meetings for project planning and develop comprehensive progress reports.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science.
• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience specifically in managing software development teams.
• Proven ability to drive sprints and OKRs (Objectives and Key Results).
• In-depth knowledge of transactional and NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of messaging systems, particularly Kafka.
• Proficient experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• Familiarity with data pipelines and Elasticsearch is considered an advantage.
• Exceptional team management skills and experience in building large-scale distributed systems.
• Demonstrated experience with scalable systems architecture.
• Expertise in Java or Python, along with multithreading concepts.
