Wärtsilä is seeking an experienced Engineering Data Analyst Lead in Navi Mumbai, India. This role involves transforming raw data into meaningful insights to guide organizational decision-making and translating complex data into actionable business strategies. The position requires collecting, cleaning, and preparing data from various sources such as databases, PDFs, and data warehouses to ensure accuracy and consistency. You will analyze trends and patterns using statistical tools and programming languages, and visualize findings through charts, dashboards, and reports for effective communication to stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows, particularly using Databricks. You will integrate AI capabilities into business applications via APIs or custom solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven solutions aligned with business needs. Ensuring data quality, governance, and compliance across platforms is also a critical aspect of this role.
Qualifications include 8+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data science, with proficiency in SQL, Excel, Python or R, and Power BI. A strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) is essential. Experience with predictive analytics, statistical modeling, and problem-solving is required. The role demands strong experience with Databricks and Copilot, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to create dashboards using tools like Power BI or Tableau. Experience with LLMs or generative AI is highly desirable.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field is required. A background in leadership or cross-functional analytics roles is considered a plus, as is familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and big data tools. Specialized knowledge in engine-focused R&D, engineering, and manufacturing domains, along with certifications in Databricks, cloud platforms, or data engineering, would be advantageous. A passion for innovation and continuous learning is expected.
